For PR Purposes

Antipode is a geek belly dancing and acting troupe who performs at various conventions along the East Coast. Fusing the theatrics of acting with a mix of cosplay, pop-culture, geekery, and off- beat humor Antipode brings the audience not just dance, but full geek entertainment. You'll find them doing a mix of Egyptian, Tribal, Arabic and Indian belly dance, along making tributes to Final Fantasy, Doctor Who, My Little Pony, The Legend of Zelda, and Harry Potter. Antipode was originally founded in 2006 and performed their first show at Setsucon in State College, PA. The eccentric and hilarious dance group has combined their love of otaku/nerd culture with their love of belly dancing to create a unique form of dance known as theatrical belly dancing. Antipode's main members are Ayla, the lead choreographer, Termariel the script writer, and Merika the costumer. While the group originally started in State College, PA, the girls are from various areas across a couple states, including Cairo in New York, and Philadelphia, Wilkes-Barre, and Hershey in Pennsylvania.
